HOUSE GROUPS
St. Andrew's has a number of house groups, which meet in different parts of the town and on different evenings. A variety of activities take place including the study of a book of the Bible or other Christian literature.
ST ANDREW'S MEN'S SOCIETY
The Church Men's Society aims to serve the Church in three main areas: the community at large, missions, and St. Andrew's Church itself. The Society meets on the second Monday in every month at 7.30 pm. We have an interesting and varied programme and we hold our Summer Service, usually in a rural setting. Men of all ages and backgrounds are welcome at our meetings - so why not come along.
THE MOTHERS' UNION
The Mothers' Union is a world -wide organisation with branches in many parishes in this Diocese, including St. Andrew's. Countries are linked by a world-wide 'wave of prayer.' The purpose of the MU is to be specially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life. The branch at St. Andrew's meets on the first Thursday of every month at 7.30 pm. Corporate Communion is at 10am on the third Wednesday of the month.
ST ANDREW'S LADIES
We meet at 7.45 pm on the third Thursday of the month in the Church Rooms. Our programme is very varied and enjoyable, including speakers, beetle drives and outings. We are always pleased to see new faces at our monthly meetings - so, if you are interested in coming along, you will be very welcome.
TINY TOTS
Tiny Tots meet each Thursday at 10.00 am in Church rooms. At 10.30 we have a short service in Church lasting about 15 minutes with songs, a story, prayers and a procession. Afterwards we all go back to the Hall for a time of friendship, play and refreshments.
CHOIR
The choir aims to provide a lead to the congregation in both said and sung parts of the service. It is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music which provides a training course for choristers in three progressive stages. The Junior Choir practices on Fridays at 7.00 pm joined by the Full Choir from 7.30 to 8.30 pm. New members are always welcome whatever your ability.
MUSIC GROUP
The music group regularly takes the leading musical role on Sunday mornings, and leads 'Together of Praise' - a service held in the early evening on the third Sunday of each month. The group currently has guitarists, bassist, keyboards, clarinet & drums. It also includes singers, so if you prefer a more popular rather than choral delivery, then the music group may be for you. Beginners or improvers are most welcome.
